M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading and Literacy
The Reading & Literacy M.Ed. program is designed to help classroom teachers at both the elementary and secondary levels to deepen their understanding of literacy processes, purposes, and development and to broaden their range of instructional and assessment approaches so that they can have the greatest possible impact on their students’ learning at either the elementary or middle/secondary levels. Candidates in the program will develop the confidence to make evidence-based instructional decisions in their own classrooms and to advocate appropriate practice with parents, colleagues, administrators, and policymakers. There is a five-year limit on literacy coursework that can be transferred into this program.
